Care & Shipping Your Raw Hides

• Skin the deer as soon as possible.
• Use your knife sparingly. Pull the hide off as much as possible to prevent holes.
• Lay the hide out flesh side up, salt completely with non-iodized salt.
• Dry hide for 3 to 4 days or until noticeable weeping stops.
• Fold and roll hide, hair side out.
• Place hide in heavy-duty plastic garbage bag for shipping.
• Do not store hide in plastic for en extended period of time, it will spoil.
• Put bag with salted hide in shipping box (yours or ours).
• Complete order form.
• Put order form in zip-close plastic bag and include with hide.
• Ship to the following address via common carrier or U.S. Postal Service:

A Few Notes

• We cannot accept freight collect shipments.

• Terms: Tanning charges are billed when we receive your hide. When your hide is ready to be made into your products, we will call you to confirm the details of your order, arrange for payment and give you an approximate arrival date. We prefer not to ship C.O.D. because it is very expensive for you. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover or personal checks.

• If your order is for tanning only, we will notify you when your hides are ready for tanning, and contact you to arrange for payment if it’s not included with your order.

• If you don’t have enough leather from your tanned hides to fill your order, we’ll gladly add leather from our stock. You just pay for tanning.

• Moose, bison and cow hides will be cut in half from neck to tail, in order to accommodate our tanning equipment.

• All hides will be split into a suitable glove or jacket thickness.

• Moose, bison and elk hides are too heavy to be used for dress gloves.

• We accept raw hides for tanning the entire year.

• All prices are in $U.S. and are subject to change without notice.

Bags & Boxes Available

Basic / Shipping Label Only / Shipping Charge Added We will mail you a pre-paid shipping label to be applied to your package, plus helpful instructions on how to prepare your hide for shipment. You salt the hide, place it in a plastic bag and provide your own box for shipping. Then call the phone number provided and our shipper comes to your door to pick up the package. The shipping charge will be added to your order.

Advanced / Plastic Bag, Box & Label / $9.95 The charge will be added to your tanning fees. We will ship you a collapsed box with a pre-paid shipping label already applied that was specifically chosen for efficient and secure shipping of your hide. Also included is a plastic bag for the hide and helpful instructions on how to prepare your hide for shipment. You will need to provide your own salt for curing the hide. The shipper comes to your door to pick up the package. We add $9.95 and shipping charge to your order.
